ATTITUDES TO CULTIVATE DAILY - Part 1

Attitude is the true definition of a man's entire content. If you want to know who a man is, what he is capable of and the quality of his life, look no further than his attitude. Our attitudes advertise us much more than we can pay for. But unfortunately, only a handful of persons, understand this reality. What you do regular will soon become part of your habit and then character. Your attitude is your habit, it forms or shapes you (your character). It is a common maxim that, practice makes perfect. This is true, not only for games and other processes of skills acquisition, is equivalently true for how well out characters turn out to be. Your attitudes will build you into either something you either know or do not know. But what is certainly constant, is that attitudes/habits alter the state of a man's character or personality.

"Attitude is everything" were the words of Keith Harrell. I absolutely concur! Your attitudes determine your friend, fortune, fate, future, finance, family, freedom, fellowship and the quality of your destiny.

Lets now consider seven attitudes to cultivate that would positively affect your life and state of mind.

  1. Optimism:  This attitude helps you to hope for the best, believe in the best and expect the best. If you are optimistic, it means you are positive. It affects the way you react and respond to situations. Optimism puts you on top of the situation. 
  2. Ever Smiling: Smiles give your admirers a positive impression about who you are. It helps you win more friends and makes you a person of the people.
  3. Generosity: Generosity can be learned. There is what I call "spirit of magnanimity" once you have it, then you can be selfless in your giving. "Givers never lack," is not only a biblical injunction, it is also a natural principle for a prosperous living.
  4. God-dependence: It is often recounted that a tree does not make a forest. However, woe unto those who will put their trust in mere men. It will not be bizarre to have them woefully disappointed.  Much more woe awaits those who would trust in their riches. No matter how prosperous and influential you have become in life, your should be absolutely God-dependent. That is the only way to sustain your wealth.
  5. Warm Spirited: Be cheerful always. Less regard to your prevalent situations, learn to keep a warm spirit, a happy and smiling look. This will certainly add values to your life. It is a choice, nothing should make your day boring or sadly.
  6. Ever Willing to Help: Make up your mind daily to help as many as you can. Be concern when you see or meet people in terrible situations even if you do not have the means to be of any assistance.
  7. Thoughtfulness: Minds that are thoughtful will find it very easy to find solutions to problems. Cultivate the habit of activating your mind and your brain with positive thoughts. This should not be miss understood for worries and anxieties. I mean by thoughtfulness, that you should make out time daily to examine yourself, think about solutions to challenges, think about your dreams and visions, thing about God and His Word. This attitude will revolutionize your entire being.
I will add to the list in my next post. Nevertheless,learn to do positive things daily by conscious efforts. Persistence is a major key to transforming one's life, as well as getting success over any worthwhile adventures.

PURSUE YOUR DREAMS!

Hey! Have you ever asked yourself, what exactly you are doing on the earth? Why were you born? Why did you come from your current family? Why are you where you are at present, doing what you are now doing? The things that happen to you, why are they so happening? Have you found out why you think the way you do, laugh the way you do, feel or talk the way you do? What about the things you indulge yourself in more frequently, why do you? Think about these things!

Friend, you have an identity that is entirely unique to you alone. You are on earth for a purpose. You are not an accident, even if you were born by unmarried parents. God allows everything that happens under the heavens for the greater or ultimate good of man. So, it does not matter how you were introduced into the world, but it is undeniably significant. Why were you birthed by unmarried parents (if that is your case), it is very important you know that. Your answers to the above questions or your findings about the very many issues raised above, will sure enable you unveil your purpose.

The key to self-discovery is self-examination. It is time for you to lunch on the roller skater, but first, who are you. Let me inform you that you have a life to live. You do not have to be like your friends or even your role models. Refuse to be another man, refuse to be a second hand person, be yourself, be the original that you are, live out your dreams.

What are your dreams? This is a million dollar question. Have you found your dreams? Some people are unfortunately just busy living the dreams and lives of other fellows. Life cannot reward you if you are not following your dreams. Guess what! Your dreams reveal your ultimate purpose in live. No man can truly find happiness and joy by living a life without definite dreams. Your dreams will keep you going. men without purposes or dreams in life, are bound to die prematurely. You only live on when you have found out a purpose to live on. Your dreams will reveal to you, your ultimate purpose, and your purpose will give you a dream.

You cannot afford to be stagnant, if you have found your dream/purpose, then pick it up and start moving. Who says it can't be achieved? Every dream is achievable! It is possible, if you pursue it hard and long enough. The events around you are the products of your dreams, whether consciously or unconsciously. If you dream must come to pass, then you must believe strongly in it, even when nobody else does. I have come to realize that, you do not need the permission or the approval of men to succeed. Once you have discovered god's purpose for your life, and have created a set of goals to match, you are good enough to turn your life around positively. You may need the supports and cooperation of men to succeed, but you do not need their approval. Once God has approved you, men will no doubt recommend you. But unless you approve yourself, no man will approve or recommend you. Sometimes, nobody will be ready to help you until you have started up something. That is how it works.

I dare you today: PURSUE YOUR DREAMS! Never you give up, giving up is always the inception of failure. Those who pursue their dreams will always find help along the way. That is how nature has arranged it. You will never find any help unless you have started the journey. Tell yourself everyday: I HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE, I HAVE GOT A PURPOSE FOR MY EXISTENCE- I CAN'T AFFORD TO DISAPPOINT GOD AND MAN, I HAVE A DREAM TO PURSUE- THEREFORE I CAN'T AFFORD TO BE LAZY AND IDLE, I HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT TO FULFILL, I HAVE GOT SO MUCH POTENTIALS WITHIN ME - I CAN'T AFFORD TO LET THEM LIE FALLOW. I AM WAKING UP TO DUTY HENCEFORTH, MY LIFE MUST COUNT. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. I WILL PURSUE MY DREAMS!

When you make such affirmations daily, you will find inner strength welling up within you, and that is the greatest energy you require to fulfill your dreams. This is your chance, if you fold your hands, destiny will pass you by. Get on the move! This is your time, if you miss it now, you MAY not have it again, or at least not as easy as it would be now. Whatever you tell yourself is always true even if they are lies. whether you think you can do it or cannot do it, you are right all same. But the ultimate and eternal truth is that YOU CAN PURSUE THAT DREAM AND FULFILL IT.

Whatever the case is, whether acute or chronic sleeplessness, it can be corrected through some natural means. All these put together will alter your sleep time, or make you stay awake much longer than you desire.



4.     Regular exercise but not later than 6 pm is encouraged. Much exercise in the day will naturally stimulate the sleep centre of the brain during the night; as a way of auto-regulating the work capacity of your muscles. Having noted that, during the night especially bedtime, the brain should be shut off from all energy exerting activities like reading, or even brain stimulating dealings like watching of the television.


5.     Cut down on your alcohol intake. If possible, avoid it completely, apart from other well known health hazards of alcohol, it also disrupts sleep.


6.     Leg exercises just before bedtime will divert more blood flow to your legs instead of the brain. This action can boost falling asleep as well.


7.     Sex just before bedtime will favour your falling asleep. Studies show that, sex hormones or chemicals release during sexual activities promote sleep.




8.     Darkness supports sleep more than light does. Thus, an hour two before bedtime, dim the lights in the bed room. A report suggests that, by so doing, the natural melatonin in the body would be increased.


9.     Control of sounds in the bedroom. Turn off the TV, and do everything possible to minimise noise to the barest minimum if it cannot be totally stamped out.


10.  Food like ‘lean turkey’ is high in tryptophan; halibut, almonds, cashew and spinach are high in Magnesium; while others like nuts, legumes and leafy green vegetables are high in vitamin B complex. Consumption of such healthy foods before bedtime will favour sleep.
